The three most common components that I use for teaching are PPTS (powerpoint presentations), pictures, and videos. The powerpoint presentations help support the lesson through the use of images and text that can be made ahead of time reducing the amount of whiteboard writing, improving the flow of the lesson. PPTS also open up new possible activities for the classroom as interactive moving/appearing/disappearing elements can be added that would otherwise not be possible.

博世凯外教Andrew教学中最常用的三个组件是PPT、图片和视频。PPT演示文稿通过使用图片和文本来支持课程,不仅可以减少白板的写作量,还能提高课程的流畅性。PPT还为某些课堂活动的开展提供过了可能,因为可以添加更具互动性的移动/出现/消失等的动态元素,使课堂更为生动有趣。

Pictures also help to provide more interaction and color to a lesson, where the whiteboard may struggle. Pictures also have a higher engagement with students. Videos can be a really useful and interactive element, that are favoured by Children. Videos provide students with a different way of absorbing information through songs or an interactive display. Videos usually have a catchy tune that helps to get stuck in a student‘s head which can be very useful for teaching vocabulary.

图片是一个使用频率非常高的授课元素,有助于提供更多的互动和色彩, 从而提升课堂参与度。而视频是最具互动性的元素,也深受孩子们的喜爱。视频为学生开辟了一种通过歌曲或互动展示来吸收信息的不同渠道,它通常需要具备一个朗朗上口的曲调以帮助学生记忆,这对于新词汇的巩固教学也非常有帮助。

The smart board can be used to save time for some of your more time consuming games. A good example of this is through the game match the cards that I play with my students. Match the cards is a card pairing game that can be played with as many or few cards as you desire. As most of my lessons have several vocab words I tend to play the game with around 16 cards. Using a smart board I can simple paste the web address of my created game (matchthecards.com) and it is ready to play at an instant. The only thing I then need to do is click the card tiles to flip each tile over.

智能白板不仅是PPT课件的呈现工具,更是互动性组合游戏开展的良好媒介,能够帮助外教节省很多的绘制时间。Match the cards是一款经常出现在博世凯外教课堂上的卡片配对类游戏。Andrew的每节课上都会有若干个新单词,所以可以通过16张卡片来完成这个单词和图片的配对游戏。借住一个智能白板,学生可以轻松地点击相应的卡片来完成单词和图片的匹配,直至全部卡片翻转和配对完毕,这节省了很多手动绘制卡片以及翻转卡片的时间。

As with the match the card game having digital supports can save time within the lesson by reducing the number of elements a teacher has to create/provide. A second example of this is through a lesson that I taught around the alphabet. Writing A to Z can be a time consuming process and may confuse students if the teachers handwriting is difficult to read. To speed up this lesson I simply listed the alphabet in a horizontal line and then allowed students to shout out answers filling in the words for each answer e.g. [A]lligator, [B]ear, [C]at.

另外,Andrew在教授一年级学生字母表的时候发现,从A到Z的字母书写是一个耗时的过程。如果老师的笔迹难以辨认,学生也很有可能产生困惑。为了加快这节课的速度以及最小化书写方面产生的问题,外教会简单地把字母表列在PPT上(ABC…),然后让学生大声说出每个字母所联想到的单词,如[A]lligator, [B]ear, [C]at…,外教则会按照学生给出的答案再次手写填充空缺部分,从而完成师生间的填词互动游戏。

Digital supports can improve engagement and classroom management by keeping the lesson interesting. They are warmly welcomed by local teachers and students.

信息技术的渗透和支持为博世凯外教的课堂增添了不少互动与乐趣,从而提升了学生的参与度,受到了学校老师们的肯定以及学生们的喜爱。
