前面我们说过单词的正确打开方式，至少要包括三个维度：

1. 同义词、近义词——究竟是什么意思。通过英文释义获得准确的理解。

2. 常见的搭配关系——还能有什么意思。使用中的意义拓展，隐喻和多义。

3. 词类的变化形式——锻炼推理的能力。你以为不认识、其实你可以认识。

我们以AWL词表为例，每组十个，做一个解读分析。

今天这10个单词，是Level 8中的。我们可以先自己回忆，看看自己对每个单词的“认知度”达到多少——根据上述三个维度，填写表格。

然后试着翻译下面给出的例句。

1. 1.     thereby

Another trend is off-site or virtual management, where teams of people linked by e-mail and the Internet work on projects from their own houses.

In these people, blood flow increased in the visual cortex- an area at the back of the right side of the brain.

1. 7.     widespread

A regulation focusing on easy access and easy firing ignores the question of how to develop widespread teaching skills and ensure a strong supply of highly able teachers for schools.

有一项规定，只关注招聘和解聘的方便，却忽视了一个问题，即如何提高综合教学技能、确保学校能够获得高素质的师资。
